Designing at Commencis is rarely straightforward and that’s exactly what makes it exciting.
Over the past two years, I’ve worked on projects spanning industries, teams, and timelines. Some began with a crystal-clear vision; others started in complete ambiguity. I’ve led end-to-end initiatives with our in-house development teams and embedded myself within client teams, learning their ways of working in record time.
Through it all, one truth has stood out: there’s no single “Commencis way” of designing—but there is a shared mindset that guides us. We choose collaboration over silos, curiosity over certainty, and progress over perfection. This is how we design, adapt, and deliver value—no matter how complex the challenge.
There’s No Perfect Start — And That’s Okay
At Commencis, we strive to be the best not by waiting for ideal conditions, but by learning and growing through the work itself.
Most projects begin with partial information. The brief is fuzzy. The timeline is tight. Stakeholders aren’t always aligned. We don’t wait for the perfect kickoff — we move forward with what we know, while staying open to change.
Instead of getting stuck in ambiguity, we get curious. We ask, observe, map, and clarify while keeping momentum alive. Every challenge is a chance to stretch our thinking, sharpen our skills, and collaborate more effectively.
Adapting to Every Client, Every Time
Every client has a different way of working. Sometimes we embed ourselves into their product teams. Other times, we run the show end-to-end. We might work directly with developers, or just deliver designs. In some projects, we help shape product strategy; in others, we focus purely on execution.
The key is flexibility — not just in tools or timelines, but in mindset. We adapt our rhythm based on context. We listen before we lead. And we take ownership not just of deliverables, but of outcomes and relationships.
Collaboration at Scale
Many of our clients are large enterprises with multiple stakeholders: product, compliance, legal, marketing, risk, development… the list goes on.
Getting alignment isn’t just about sending Figma files. It’s about building trust, learning each team’s language, and navigating conflicting priorities. Instead of rigid processes, we co-create working models:
- What kind of check-ins actually help?
- How does feedback flow best?
- Where can we reduce friction?
Hybrid Work, Real Relationships
Even in a hybrid and remote world, connection stays at the heart of how we work. Whether in workshops or Zoom calls, we stay present, communicate openly, and show up as people first. Trust is built in the in-between moments, not just the big meetings.
Whether we’re working side-by-side or across screens, we approach every project as one team. Our hybrid way of working reflects a core belief at Commencis: we are one community.
Things Get Messy and We Keep Moving
No project is immune to chaos. Feedback gets missed. Versions multiply. People go on leave mid-project.
What keeps things moving is not perfection, but resilience. Instead of asking “who dropped the ball?” we ask:
- What’s the smallest action we can take right now?
- How can we unblock this?
- Who needs context?
Progress over blame. Every time.
People Change, Culture Doesn’t
Designers move across projects. Developers shift teams. Product owners rotate. But Commencis culture holds steady. We onboard fast, share knowledge generously, and support each other when someone is overloaded.
It’s this culture, not just process, that makes a project feel safe to explore, fail, learn, and grow.
The Real Secret: Collective Memory and Know-How
One of the best things about working here is the diversity of experience. Someone’s always been through a similar challenge. A teammate who’s designed onboarding for a fintech product. Another who’s run usability tests. A developer who’s handled complex API handoffs.
That shared experience becomes a living library — and when we tap into it, we move faster and smarter.
Key Takeaways
At Commencis, design is never just about the screens we create—it’s about shaping real products that make an impact.
Every project is different. Sometimes we lead the full journey from concept to launch; other times, we plug into a client’s team to accelerate their process. Either way, we adapt quickly, stay aligned, and keep the momentum strong.
What makes this possible is our culture of collaboration: curious, adaptable, and focused on outcomes. We care deeply about creating value for users, teams, and businesses alike.
In the end, design here isn’t just a service it’s a partnership built on trust, flexibility, and the belief that the best products come from working and learning together.

Yes. Every client works differently. Sometimes we embed ourselves in product teams, other times we manage design end-to-end. We flex our rhythms, tools, and focus areas depending on whether we’re shaping strategy, delivering execution, or collaborating closely with developers.
With many stakeholders — product, compliance, legal, marketing, risk, and development — alignment requires more than sharing files. We build trust, learn each team’s language, and co-create working models for feedback, check-ins, and reducing friction.
