Fatih İşbecer
Chairman
Fatih İşbecer is the Chairman of Commencis, an entrepreneur, and an angel investor. In 2000, at age 24, Fatih founded Pozitron which went on to lay foundations for Turkey’s mobile banking, mobile commerce, and payments ecosystem. In February 2014, Pozitron was acquired by Monitise, a London-based tech company, making it one of the largest mobile software company acquisitions in Europe. After the acquisition, Fatih was appointed as the CEO of Monitise Americas to run North and South America operations. Then he moved to San Francisco to continue his career at Monitise Americas, a company providing mobile financial solutions to financial institutions in the US. In 2017, Monitise was acquired by Fiserv, a US-based Fortune 500 company. After this acquisition, Fatih left Fiserv to establish a global brand in digital technologies and founded Commencis, where he is currently the Chairman. He holds a BS degree in Physics Engineering from Istanbul Technical University.
Fırat İşbecer
CEO
Fırat İşbecer is the CEO of Commencis, an entrepreneur and an angel investor. Fırat co-founded Pozitron, one of Europe’s fastest growing mobile banking, mobile commerce and payments software companies which was acquired by Monitise in 2014. After joining Monitise, Fırat held the role of Managing Director of Monitise MEA. In 2017, Monitise was acquired by US-based a Fortune 500 financial services tech giant Fiserv Inc. After the acquisition, he left the company and founded Commencis. After studying at Robert College, Fırat received his BA degree in Communications from Galatasaray University, and his MA degree in Geopolitical Studies from a joint programme by the Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne and the École Normale Supérieure in Paris.
Yasemin Gönül
VP of Finance
Yasemin Gönül is the VP of Finance at Commencis. In her role, she is responsible for all the company’s financial functions, including accounting, audit, treasury, and corporate finance. She also oversees commercial contracts, legal and regulative compliance. Her career spans more than 15 years of varied experience in financial management, business leadership and corporate strategy. Prior to Commencis, Yasemin acted as the Finance Director of Monitise MEA for 4 years. Before that, for two years she worked as the Finance Manager of Pozitron, one of Europe’s fastest-growing mobile banking, mobile commerce, and payments software companies. Yasemin began her career at PwC where she held the roles of Audit & Assurance Manager. She holds a BA degree in Business Administration from Boğaziçi University.
Duru Kızılkayak
VP of Engineering
Duru Kızılkayak is the VP of Engineering & Design at Commencis. Her leadership involves software & data engineering teams as well as interaction, UI, and CommD teams, which contribute to Commencis products to a great extent with their expertise. Duru manages her team to deliver high-quality products while ensuring that whole processes are being realized through excellence. She started her career working as a consultant at an SAP Partner, followed by HP, then she moved to telecommunications where she spent 10 years establishing an ISP & Datacentre business from scratch where she held Business Development and COO roles. In 2015, with the desire to explore different aspects of the digital world, she joined Commencis. Duru has a BS degree in Industrial Engineering from Purdue University in the US.
İdil Süren
VP of Client Delivery
İdil Süren is the VP of Client Delivery and New Business at Commencis. She is an Electrical & Electronics engineer with more than 14 years of experience in the technology sector. In her role, İdil oversees key account management, new business and project management. She is responsible for building and maintaining effective relationships across all levels of the client’s organization to ensure client satisfaction and retention. In coordination with product management, business analysis and technical engineering teams she focuses on managing the development of business requirements and technical solutions. Previously, İdil held the roles of VP of Account Management, and Key Accounts & Business Development Director of Monitise MEA for 4 years.
Can Elmas
VP of Technology
Can Elmas is the VP of Technology at Commencis. In his role, Can explores emerging technologies, assesses their impact on the company’s business, prototypes and evaluates new concepts, and recommends new strategies and solutions. Can is also responsible for the development of Dataroid – the big data and analytics platform of Commencis. He joined Commencis (formerly known as Pozitron and Monitise) as a Software Engineering Intern in 2007 while studying Computer Science at the Galatasaray University. After completing his internship, he started working at Pozitron as Software Development Team Leader. He holds an MA degree in Software Engineering from Boğaziçi University.
Melih Mert
VP of Product & Quality
Melih Mert is the VP of Product & Quality at Commencis. Melih has more than 10 years of experience in telco and technology sectors. He started his career as a software engineer at JPMorgan Chase&Co, later, he moved to product management at Vodafone. Melih has held also business analysis roles and has taken responsibility in digital customer experience, analytics, banking, airlines, and commerce projects. He worked at Pozitron as a Product Owner from 2012 to 2014, and continued his career at Monitise MEA as Business Analysis Manager. After that, Melih joined Commencis in 2018, where he leads business analysis, QA, and product teams to deliver purposeful digital products for the leading brands. Melih holds both MSc and BSc degrees in Computer Engineering from Boğaziçi University.
Gonca Çetin
VP of Human Resources & Facilities
Gonca Çetin is the VP of Human Resources & Facilities at Commencis. In her role, she leads the HR team in reinforcing strong company culture, creating and leading large-scale employee engagement and development programs, and implementing reward and talent management strategies that support the achievement of business goals and objectives. Gonca has over 15 years of HR experience. Prior to Commencis in 2018, she acted as HR Manager for Monitise MEA for 4 years. Prior to that role, she also worked in HR management roles for Pozitron and Thames Water. Gonca holds a BA degree in Sociology from Galatasaray University.
Alp Pekin
VP of Cloud and Partnerships
Alp Pekin is the VP of Cloud and Partnerships at Commencis. After completing his BSc degree in Industrial Engineering, he started his journey in 2001 as an ERP Specialist and has gained experience over the years mainly on consultancy and management fields. Before joining Commencis in 2018, Alp worked for 13 years as Principal Consultant and Business Development Director. At Commencis, he leads strategy programs, and a skilled team of professionals that engineer solutions, create pipeline, and drive revenue in partnership with leading hyperscale cloud providers.
